Issue 107: Tausch, Reinhard: Empirische Untersuchungen zu Sinn-Erfahrungen und Wertauffassungen. July 1996

Reinhard Tausch discusses Sinn-Erfahrungen (experiences in meaning, in valuing and evaluating, and in making sense of events and experiences) such as in experiencing disease, death, social interaction, dispair, angst, sorrow, and fight. Making sense, 'Sinn erfahren' in doing something or suffering from something gives life a meaning and a mostly positive acceptance. Tausch presents empirical data for various real-life challenges and responses, in particular for experiences and emotions associated with guilt and self-blame, conscience and responsibleness, and forgiveness. He recommends to promote Sinn-Erfahrungen in daily life, in psychiatric therapy, in schools and universities.
