Issue 95: Schroeder-Kurth, Traute: Das "Slippery Slope"- Argument in der Medizin und Medizinethik. December 1994

The Slippery Slope argument plays an important role in the moral assessment of new technology wherever consequences and further applications of technology cannot be assessed precisely and clearly enough. Schroeder-Kurth discusses the pro and contra of slippery slope arguments as they are a necessary and unavoidable part of moral assessment; she indicates that the reaffirmation of mutually shared values and the strengthening of personal responsibility might contribute to first recognize and then to avoid potential slippery slopes.
